Cape Winelands - Stellenbosch

Day 1
Cape Town Arrival

Upon arrival at Cape Town International Airport, you will be met by your guides and begin your journey into the beautiful Cape Winelands.

A scenic drive takes you to your charming country lodge near Stellenbosch, nestled beneath dramatic mountain scenery and vineyards, offering a tranquil start to your adventure.

After time to freshen up and relax, your evening begins with a special welcome dinner prepared by your private adventure chef, Ian, who will introduce you to South African flavours in a relaxed and intimate setting.

Day 2
Cape Winelands

After a relaxed breakfast at the lodge, travel over the mountain pass to the charming village of Franschhoek.

Begin the day exploring the vibrant Franschhoek Village Market, a local favourite where artisan food, coffee, craft produce and local culture come together.

Enjoy a leisurely stroll through the village streets, browsing boutique shops and galleries. Lunch is at leisure in town, allowing you to choose from one of the many exceptional cafés or bistros.

In the afternoon, enjoy a behind-the-scenes wine cellar tour at one of the region’s renowned estates, gaining insight into the history and craftsmanship that make South African wines world famous. Why not grab a couple of bottles to enjoy later?

Return to the lodge for a relaxed evening or explore Stellenbosch town centre for dinner at leisure in one of South Africa’s most historic towns, known for its oak-lined streets, Cape Dutch architecture and vibrant culinary scene.

Day 3
Wine Tram Adventure

Today you experience one of the most enjoyable ways to explore the region — the famous Franschhoek Wine Tram.

This hop-on, hop-off tram winds through the valley linking some of the finest wine estates in the region, allowing you to enjoy tastings and beautiful vineyard settings at your own pace.

In the evening, return to the lodge to enjoy your wine and a cheese and bread platter followed by a traditional south African dessert. Early night, tomorrow you are off to Cape Town.

Day 4
Robben Island and V&A Waterfront

After breakfast, head to Cape Town and the V&A Waterfront harbour for a ferry to Robben Island.

This powerful historical site is where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 18 years. Guided tours of the island are often led by former political prisoners, providing a deeply personal insight into South Africa’s history.

Return to the Waterfront for a relaxed afternoon and early evening where you can enjoy the lively atmosphere, shops, restaurants and harbour views.

Your accommodation is located in the stylish suburb of Tamboerskloof, offering spectacular views of Table Mountain – Breakfast Included

Day 5
Mountain to Sea

After an early breakfast, head to the Table mountain cableway where you will be met by our Fynbos expert for a guided walk around the table top.

For the adventurous, there is the option to skip the cable car and hike the Platteklip Gorge. The invigorating hike offers spectacular views over Cape Town.

Ample time is given for photographs and to have an early lunch whilst enjoying one of the seven wonders of nature.

All guests descend on the cable car and return to the accommodation for a freshen up and some down time.

Late afternoon we explore the very trendy and glamourous Camps Bay where cocktails are the name of the game.

Dinner at the Three Wise Monkeys in Seapoint, Ramen and Poke bowls come highly recommended.

Day 6
The Peninsula

Today you explore the dramatic scenery of the Cape Peninsula. Begin with a visit to Boulders Beach, home to a delightful colony of endangered African Penguin. Wooden boardwalks wind through the dunes, offering the opportunity to observe these charming birds up close in their natural coastal habitat.

Continue south to the spectacular landscapes of Cape Point and the iconic Cape of Good Hope. For those who enjoy walking, there is the option to hike between these two famous landmarks along scenic coastal trails, taking in sweeping ocean views, rugged cliffs and the unique fynbos vegetation of the reserve. Alternatively, guests may travel comfortably by vehicle between the viewpoints.

The journey back follows the legendary Chapman’s Peak Drive, one of the world’s most spectacular coastal roads, carved dramatically into the mountainside above the Atlantic Ocean.

In the late afternoon, arrive in Hout Bay for a relaxed seafood dinner at Fish on the Rocks, a much-loved local spot overlooking the harbour.

Day 7
Free Day – Cape Town

After several busy days exploring, today offers a more relaxed and flexible pace in Cape Town. Guests may choose to enjoy a well-deserved lie-in before deciding how best to spend the day. This is an opportunity to revisit favourite sights, catch up on highlights that may have been missed due to weather, or simply enjoy some leisure time based on personal interests.

Options might include exploring nearby beaches, visiting museums, or browsing boutique shops and cafés around the city. The blue café in Tamboerskloof is a wonderful guest favourite.

The day is intentionally open to allow for personal adventures and independent exploration, giving guests the freedom to shape their own memorable experiences before the journey continues.

Day 8
Flight to Kruger & Private Lodge Stay

Today guests depart Cape Town and fly to the renowned Kruger region. Upon arrival, they are transferred to Mjejane Private Bush Lodge, a luxurious private lodge overlooking the African bush and the iconic Kruger National Park.

After settling in, there is time to relax and soak in the tranquil surroundings. The lodge offers sweeping views across the wilderness, providing a peaceful setting to unwind and enjoy the African bush.

As evening falls, gather for a traditional fire-cooked meal and drinks around a roaring bonfire beneath the vast, starlit African sky — a perfect introduction to the safari experience.

Overnight: Mjejane Private Game Reserve – Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Day 9
Morning Game Drive

Wake up early for a thrilling morning game drive, accompanied by coffee and traditional rusks as you venture into the bush. Encounter wildlife in their natural habitat, from majestic elephants to elusive predators.

After the drive, return to the Lodge for a relaxed breakfast overlooking the surrounding bush.

The remainder of the day is at leisure. Guests may choose to unwind by the pool, relax on the lodge deck, or simply take in the peaceful atmosphere while watching the wildlife that often passes nearby.

From this vantage point it is common to see animals such as Hippopotamus, Elephant, Crocodile and various species of Antelope moving through the surrounding bush or along the riverbanks.

Day 10
Full-Day Kruger Exploration

Kruger National Park boasts incredible biodiversity with a variety of animals including the Big Five, Little Five, and Ugly Five. Breakfast and lunch can be enjoyed at traditional rest camps within the park as you spend the day tracking wildlife across this legendary safari destination.

Expert guides provide insights into animal behaviour and conservation efforts during the immersive safari experience.

Guests return to the lodge to enjoy a traditional meal celebrating the African bush and its natural wonders.

Day 11
Afternoon Game Drive

After yesterday’s adventure, enjoy a slower morning.

Breakfast and lunch are served at the lodge.

In the late afternoon, head out for another game drive in Mjejane Private Game Reserve. Dusk brings the bush back to life with amazing sighting opportunities. Sundowners in the bush is something that you will never forget.

Light snacks on the drive will be followed by a traditional dish served on the deck of the lodge.

Day 12
Relaxation Day

Day of Rest and Reflection
This day balances rest and reflection, creating a memorable conclusion to the safari adventure.

Why not book a relaxing massage or just sit back and enjoy the river while finishing off your wine from Cape Town and indulging in Chef Ian’s culinary delights.

If you haven’t had enough of the game viewer, an optional extra drive will be available.

It’s a long flight home so enjoy the down time.

Day 13
Transfer to Cape Town and Farewell

Enjoy breakfast and one last look at the river and the wildlife, odds are that you will be back… Africa has a way of getting under your skin, but for now it’s farewell.

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Kruger Airport for departure to Cape Town and onward flights.
